Our Famous Sweet Corn:
Some say it's the best corn east of the Mississippi. Some say it's also the best corn west of the Mississippi. One thing's for sure, it's the area's best - we've got enough First Place Blue Ribbons to show that. But the real proof is from our customers who have come to expect only the best over all these years. The pride, skill and care we use to grow our corn has been passed down generation after generation. We offer nine varieties during the season all grown the Larson way.

We are often asked "What is the best way to cook sweet corn?"

Unlike lobster, you should not boil sweet corn! Unlike tea or coffee, it does not need milk or sugar! Fresh sweet corn is both tender and naturally sweet. Boiling robs it of both these qualities.

Here is what we think works best.

  1. Put about four inches of water in a large pot.
  2. Bring this to a boil.
  3. Place corn in the pot, cover and immediately turn off the heat. ( The corn does not need to be covered by water )
  4. Steam for about 4 or 5 minutes.
  5. Butter and salt to taste.
Enjoy!!
